Our Story
Tophill Invest Limited was established in 2019 as Malawi's premier organic mushroom producer. From our state-of-the-art temperature-controlled facilities, we produce 6,500kg of organic button mushrooms weekly, supported by our own spawn production laboratory and delivery fleet.
We serve local markets daily and export to Zambia and Tanzania weekly, contributing to Malawi's export economy and regional food security. Our commitment to sustainable organic farming practices and consistent quality has positioned us as a trusted supplier across the region.
Our vision is to lead the organic button mushroom industry in Malawi and beyond, transforming the country from a net importer to a reliable regional exporter.
Our Leadership
Leon Burger
Leon has years of experience in consulting and growing businesses in Africa, specializing in large-scale agricultural projects. His expertise spans poultry, aquaculture, seed crops, herbs, feed mills, cotton mills, and large-scale irrigation development and installations.
James R Wood
James has been involved in executive management for many years with experience in manufacturing, business restructuring, expansions, and corporate financial control. He also has extensive knowledge of herbs, essential oil extraction, marketing, and sales.
Lelanie Price
Posses a degree in mycology, with years of experience as a mycologist , specializing in button mushroom spawn production. Lelanie is one of the founders and will be Head of Laboratory here in Malawi.
Cryton Makandawire
He is an accountant for two big farming companies in Malawi, joined our team as a director this year and have one year left to study to become a chartered accountant. Cryton will lead our financial department as CFO.
